Litholink is Labcorp’s premier provider of 24-hour urine testing for kidney stone prevention¹.

Through sophisticated algorithms created by the leading specialists in the disease, Litholink provides on the test report itself patient-specific treatment recommendations and other clinical and patient support.

Over 10% of the U.S. population² will have at least one kidney stone in their lifetime, one of the most painful disorders a person can suffer from, which leads to expensive and unpleasant ER visits, hospitalizations, and surgical procedures. At least half of these people will form additional stones³ - some will form stones chronically. Preventing kidney stones is the primary goal of Litholink’s Kidney Stone Prevention Program. Litholink and its founders have contributed to 20 years of peer-reviewed clinical data.Treatment has been shown to reduce recurrence by as much as 80%⁴.

Physicians must determine the underlying causes of kidney stone formation in order to prevent future stones from occurring. Litholink testing provides physicians with high quality results and helps physicians prevent kidney stones from reoccurring.

Physicians can order 24-hour urine collection(s) and have a kit shipped to a patient’s home. The patient completes the urine collection and sends the sample(s) back to Litholink’s laboratory in Chicago, IL. Testing is performed to determine why the patient is forming kidney stones. Results are reported to the physician on over thirty different measurements in order to assist the physician in determining the best prevention treatment for each patient.
